http://NicolaCairncross.com – UK Internet Marketing Mentor Nicola Cairncross shares another in this “Business Internet Marketing MOT” series of videos, where she reviews a live website from a marketing strategy and search engine optimisation perspective.

Today, we review Jill Wood’s holiday cottage in the Peak District. Jill is a long-time client of Nicola’s having worked on her http://www.onemoremove.co.uk/ website, created to to help the UK military community make the most of where they live. Due to her husband being in the forces, Jill moves around a lot and has rented out her lovely cottage in the Peak District. She says:

“We have set up our Peak District Cottage as a holiday let and started initially taking bookings via an agent. The spring & summer season has gone very well and we have had lots of bookings and brilliant feedback from our guests.

Now that we have the teething problems out of the way and the winter season is approaching I want to start marketing it much more. The end goal is to generate sufficient direct bookings that we can stop using the agent. In order to do that I need to improve our SEO but the problem is I don’t fully understand keywords and how and where to use them.

Also there are so many key words that appear important in quite a competitive market. Things like “dog friendly” “Peak District” “self catering” “holiday cottages” and “holiday cottage”. But I don’t know in what combination or how to use them.

Any ideas you might have would be gratefully received.”
